Job summary

Apple Rehab Coccomo in Meriden, CT seeks a Maintenance Assistant to maintain and repair the facility's plant and systems. You will operate tools, plan efficient work, and coordinate with staff to minimize disruption.

The role requires ability to perform routine plumbing, electrical, mechanical and grounds tasks, along with a valid driver's license and a positive, patient attitude toward residents.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility preferred.
• Working knowledge of routine plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and grounds keeping tasks including painting, wallpapering, and shoveling snow.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Demonstrates cooperation and ability to work as a team.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward residents and their support networks.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs the facility's physical plant and its systems.
• Safely operates equipment and tools; plans efficient use of time.
• Advises facility personnel of potential shut-downs to enable alternate plans.
• Inspects facility and reports needed repairs to Maintenance Supervisor.
