Job summary

HP Hood is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support production by performing repairs and preventive maintenance while prioritizing safety, quality and efficiency. You will work under the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager to meet company standards and SAQF expectations.

Shift Tue-Sat 2PM-10PM; Sun-Mon off. Candidates should have electrical/PC background, experience in plumbing, refrigeration and equipment repair, and be able to work independently.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Education.
• At least 3 years experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
• Multi-task capability and ability to work independently or with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct general repairs & maintenance to facility and grounds as assigned.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance Programs.
• General maintenance including painting, building repairs, plumbing, electrical work, boiler maintenance and drain cleaning.
• Background in Electrical and PC.
• Experience in plumbing, refrigeration and equipment repair; knowledge of equipment.
• Basic knowledge of electrical starters, switches and three-phase motors.
• Must provide your own hand tools.
• Responsible for inventory of parts of assigned area.
• Pass pulmonary functions test and respirator fit test annually.
• Any other duties assigned.

Job Responsibilities
