Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector in Commerce, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Level 3 to join our onsite team. You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial equipment, troubleshoot, repair CNCs, and read blueprints and manuals.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent with 4 years in manufacturing maintenance or millwright; familiarity with PLC/HMI, vacuum, electrical, hydraulic and cooling systems; ability to lift 50 lbs and work overtime.

Qualifications

• Provide maintenance and repairs; document work in CMMS.
• Operate forklift, scissor lift, and JLG equipment as needed.
• Adhere to OSHA safety standards including Lockout/Tagout.

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Level 3 to join our team in Commerce, CA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

The Maintenance Technician Level 3 will perform preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial equipment by testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Conduct work within multiple maintenance trades including millwright, electrician, plumber, and carpenter.
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Provide preventative and correct maintenance on various complex CNCs: 3 and 5-axis milling, horizontal and vertical lathes
• Adhere to all OSHA regulatory and safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to accurately document maintenance activities, work orders, and parts usage
• Forklift, scissor lift, and JLG operations
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years experience in the manufacturing industry as an Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial maintenance technician or millwright.
• No clearance required to start
• Must have general knowledge of CNC machinery maintenance and repairs
• Solid understanding vacuum, electrical, hydraulic, cooling, and pressure systems
• Familiarity with PLC’s/HMI’s
• Candidate must be able to work a flexible shift to include overtime hours
• Must be able to lift over 50lbs., climb ladders, operate a forklift, and work at height

Preferred Qualifications

• 10 years’ experience working as an industrial maintenance technician
• An associate’s degree, licensed Journeyman or master tradesman, or journeyman level Automated Maintenance Technician Program
• Proficient and knowledgeable in 3-phase and single-phase power distribution systems, motor controls, wiring and troubleshooting of such systems including 24 VDC to 480 VAC systems
• Certifications or demonstrated competency repairing complex electro-mechanical systems
• Experience in the Aerospace and/or Defense industry
• Experience with building maintenance management systems (CMMS/CAFM), including L2L and work order tracking

Primary Level Salary Range: $61,100.00 - $101,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
