Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Leoti, KS is seeking a Maintenance Team Member to help maintain and repair buildings and critical systems across our production facilities. You will work on preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, install and inspect equipment, and support uptime for animal production sites.

The role requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, ability to read instructions, basic math, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree or higher; GED acceptable with related experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders.
  • Ability to apply basic math to practical tasks.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions in written or diagram form.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain medical card.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems including feed, water, ventilation, and control equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and testing devices as required.
  • Follow work orders to determine equipment needing replacement or maintenance.
  • Weld building equipment and fabricate penning or gating as needed.
  • Be on call for emergencies.

We have an exciting Maintenance Team Member opportunity in Leoti, KS. The Maintenance Team Member assists in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, fresh water systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment that require replacement, repair or maintenance.
  • Welding of building equipment including load-out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
  • Must be on call available for emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must possess a current valid driver's license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card
SCHEDULE

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.
