Seaboard Foods, located in Leoti, KS, is seeking a Maintenance Team Member to help maintain and repair facilities and equipment across animal production sites.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot systems, weld and install components, and work from work orders while supporting on-call duties. Ideal candidates have a technical degree or related training, basic math and reading skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Formación

• Two-year technical degree or higher, or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; or related training.
• Ability to read simple instructions and work orders; write simple notes.

Responsabilidades

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems (feed, water, recycle, ventilation, etc.).
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and testing devices.
• Follow work orders to determine replacements or repairs.
• Weld and fabricate as needed for equipment and pens.
• Be on call for emergencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, fresh water systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment that require replacement, repair or maintenance.
• Welding of building equipment including load-out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
• Must be on call available for emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card

SCHEDULE

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility.
• The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is dependent on which environment you are in
