Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Bloomfield, IA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our operations by maintaining and repairing building systems and automated equipment.

The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, welding, and on-call coverage for emergency repairs, using a range of hand and power tools and testing equipment to keep production facilities running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems and equipment (e.g., automated feed systems, water systems, ventilation).
• Use hand and power tools to service equipment and perform welding as needed.
• Follow work orders and specs to determine repair or maintenance needs.
• Welding of buildings equipment and fabrications for penning or gating.
• Be on call for emergency situations.

We have an exciting Maintenance Team Member opportunity in Bloomfield, IA. The maintenance team member will assist in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings by performing the duties outline below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, freshwater systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.
• Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
• Must be on call available for emergency situations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Required:

• Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card.
