Seaboard Foods in Bloomfield, IA is seeking a Maintenance Team Member to help maintain and repair facility systems, including feed and water systems, ventilation, and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, follow work orders, and assist with welding and fabrications as needed.

The role requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent, ability to read instructions, math skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or higher, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass DOT physical.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems in animal production facilities.
• Use hand and power tools and electrical testing devices as required.
• Follow work orders to determine replacement or maintenance needs.
• Welding of building equipment and fabrications for penning or gating.
• Must be on call available for emergency situations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list is not intended to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, freshwater systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.
• Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
• Must be on call available for emergency situations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required:

• Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver's license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card.
