Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Maintenance Assistant in Elgin, IL to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment, troubleshoot issues, and complete preventive tasks to minimize downtime.

The role requires 1–3 years in maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, and preferred technical training. You will work Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with pay $20–$22 per hour and a path to direct hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training or certification preferred.
• 1-3 years maintenance experience in manufacturing or related field.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license and clean DMV record.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with team and management.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and assist with repairs
• Complete preventive and routine maintenance tasks
• Identify potential equipment issues before downtime
• Respond to breakdowns and maintenance requests
• Assist with maintenance of injection molding machinery
• Support equipment adjustments and repairs for production
• Perform general building and facility maintenance as needed
• Communicate maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Manager
• Follow safety procedures and maintain safe work environment
