Job summary

Audubon in Baton Rouge is seeking a Maintenance Technician to protect the safety, functionality, and appearance of residential and commercial properties. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs across building systems.

Work closely with property management to address requests, maintain records, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and codes. Strong hands-on skills in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician in real estate/property management.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and safety regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems to identify maintenance needs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks such as changing filters and testing safety systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants or property managers, diagnosing problems and executing repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts inventory, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or large-scale maintenance projects.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Assist in managing inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for maintenance operations.
• Support emergency maintenance efforts during off-hours as needed to resolve urgent issues.
