The role is intended for someone with good mechanical ability who is willing to learn, take ownership of assigned work, and help keep the shop safe, organized, and operational. Complex CNC repairs and advanced diagnostics will be supported or led by the Lead Maintenance Technician or an outside service provider.

Core Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Support: Assist the Lead Maintenance Technician with routine repairs, inspections, planned maintenance, machine moves, and larger maintenance projects.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Complete assigned PM checklists and basic service activities such as cleaning, filter changes, lubrication checks, coolant checks, and visual inspections.
  • Minor Equipment Repairs: Address basic issues such as leaks, loose guards, damaged hoses, worn hardware, lighting, and other straightforward mechanical or facility-related repairs within the employee's training and ability.
  • Facility and Handyman Tasks: Perform general building upkeep including minor plumbing repairs, replacing lights, repairing doors and locks, mounting shelves or signs, painting, patching walls, assembling furniture, and completing other practical facility needs.
  • Shop and Grounds Upkeep: Help maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, storage spaces, utility areas, exterior areas, and common areas.
  • Continuous Improvement and 5S: Support workstation improvements, equipment organization, floor-marking projects, safety improvements, and other continuous-improvement activities.
  • Maintenance Supplies: Help organize tools, spare parts, filters, lubricants, and maintenance supplies, and communicate when items need to be reordered.
  • Vendor Support: Assist outside service providers by coordinating access, locating equipment, communicating known issues, and supporting work performed onsite.
  • Documentation and Safety: Record completed work, communicate equipment or facility concerns, follow Lockout/Tagout requirements, and immediately escape work that is unsafe or beyond the position's training.
  • Additional Support: Complete other reasonable maintenance, facility, and general support duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Previous maintenance, construction, mechanical, automotive, machine shop, or handyman experience is helpful, but a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn will be considered.
  • Basic Skills: Comfortable using common hand and power tools and performing basic mechanical and facility repairs safely.
  • Problem Solving: Able to identify routine issues, complete assigned work, and recognize when a problem should be escalated to the Lead Maintenance Technician.
  • Dependability: Reliable, responsive, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision after receiving direction.
  • Communication and Safety: Able to communicate concerns clearly, work effectively with others, and follow shop safety, personal protective equipment, and Lockout/Tagout requirements. Training will be provided as appropriate.
