Job summary

Baker Hughes Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing and facility operations by maintaining machinery, equipment, and infrastructure to keep production safe, reliable, and efficient.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and execute repairs with cross-functional teams while upholding safety and quality standards; overtime and weekend shifts may be required as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Certificate in Industrial Technology or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years in a maintenance technician, maintenance mechanic, or millwright role.
  • Experience with CNC machines, laser cutters, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to install, evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair complex industrial equipment.
  • Comfort with welding, grinding, multimeters, drills, and saws; forklift operation a plus.
  • Willingness to work overtime, alternate shifts, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and select repair methods and parts.
  • Carry out repairs on production systems in a timely manner.
  • Test repaired equipment to verify functionality.
  • Perform facility maintenance including electrical, plumbing, painting, and general repairs.
  • Support occasional janitorial and upkeep activities as required.
  • Comply with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment as needed.
  • Read blueprints and technical drawings to support maintenance work.
  • Support continuous improvement to increase reliability and efficiency.

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing and facility operations by ensuring machinery, equipment, and infrastructure remain safe, reliable, and operational. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and execute repairs that minimize downtime and maintain productivity. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and maintaining high standards of safety and quality, you will help drive operational excellence across the facility.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnosing machine malfunctions and determining appropriate repair methods and replacement parts.
  • Carrying out repairs on machinery, equipment, and production systems in a timely manner.
  • Testing repaired equipment to verify successful repairs and proper functionality.
  • Performing facility maintenance activities, including electrical, plumbing, painting, and general building repairs.
  • Supporting occasional janitorial and facility upkeep activities as required.
  • Complying with company quality, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing CNC machines, laser cutters, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance activities.
  • Utilizing maintenance tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices to support repair and installation work.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Performing other duties assigned based on workload and business needs.
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Have a certificate in Industrial Technology or a related field, preferred.
  • Have 3+ years of experience in a maintenance technician, maintenance mechanic, or millwright role.
  • Have experience working with and repairing CNC machines, laser cutters, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Have demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Have intermediate math, reading, and problem-solving skills.
  • Have the ability to install, evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines and complex industrial equipment.
  • Have experience installing, evaluating, and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Have the ability to safely troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
  • Have experience operating maintenance tools and equipment, including welders, grinders, multimeters, drill presses, and saws.
  • Have the ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Have basic computer skills and the ability to use maintenance-related systems and programs.
  • Have strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with teams, supervisors, leadership, vendors, and visitors.
  • Have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Have the willingness and flexibility to work overtime, alternative shifts, and weekends as required by business needs.
