Candidates will be responsible for cleaning, repairs, and assisting with unit turnarounds while upholding the company's standards for a clean and safe environment. Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThis is a FULL-TIME position, working 5 days a week (Monday-Friday), as an EXPERIENCED JANITOR/MAINTENANCE TECH. This person would be part of an active team in assisting the In-House Maintenance with the overall daily, weekly and monthly tasks associated with the cleaning, repair and turnover of units in a privately owned 99-unit apartment building in San Francisco. The candidate should be willing to clean and sanitize the common areas, empty trash containers and facilitate the daily recycling program in the building. This would be the candidate’s daily morning priority. Additionally, duties would also include turning over units, working with the maintenance supervisor to fulfill work orders, notifying the management of any deficiencies or needs, and be pro-active in solving them. The candidate would be expected to assist in any other maintenance duty that may be assigned
Ideally, the RIGHT candidate must be friendly, honest, dependable, and self-motivated. The RIGHT candidate would be detail oriented and be able to multi-task. When assigned a task, they would follow through without being told again. They would also have the desire to be trained in assisting the maintenance supervisor in painting, plumbing and ultimately remodeling of units. They must have the ability to interact well with tenants and work collaboratively with team members. The staff are expected to maintain the company’s high standards in providing their tenants with a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
A MINIMUM OF 2 YEAR EXPERIENCE IN MAINTENANCE/JANITORIAL WORK IS NECESSARY. Must have experience in painting and plumbing.**
DUTIES WOULD INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
· Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and sanitizing all interior common areas as well as adjacent outdoor areas
· Emptying/sanitizing garbage containers and all recycling containers on 6 floors
· Turning vacant units, which could include, but not be limited to: Sealing cracks, painting units, cleaning, sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, washing appliances and cabinets, and sanitizing bathrooms in order to complete turnover of units.
· Assist Maintenance Supervisor with Tenant Work Orders
· Assist in maintaining supply rooms and requesting supplies
REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Must be able to read, write and speak English
· Ability to lift 50 pounds as well as the ability to stand/walk, bend, push, grip, reach with both L/R hands.
· To facilitate the trash/recyclables removal on 1 day of a 3-day holiday weekend
· Experienced with working with various cleaning chemicals, cleaning tools such as vacuum, power washer, etc.
· Ability to work as a team member or work independently
· Verifiable resume; including name of business, address, phone number, and email of former supervisor
Pay Range: Starting at $26.00/hour
