Founded in 1975, the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) is a pioneering social enterprise serving diverse communities in the East Bay through community-centered development. We generate over 75% of our revenue from earned income, operating across real estate development, property management, social services, and professional consulting. We are seeking three full-time Maintenance Technicians to join our Property Management department, supporting properties in Kensington, Eastlake, Highland Palms, Jack London Gateway Senior Housing, and California Hotel.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexible scheduling required.

Summary:

Under the direction of the Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician provides skilled maintenance support to ensure the upkeep and safety of our properties, covering staff absences, assisting with large projects, and maintaining units, common areas, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide maintenance coverage during staff vacations or absences.
• Assist with large-scale projects and train maintenance staff as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and ensure timely completion of service requests and unit turnovers.
• Conduct repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting, maintaining safety standards.
• Inspect grounds, buildings, and common areas for hazards and maintenance needs.
• Oversee or assist with move-in/move-out inspections and monitor contractor work.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, inventory, and unit conditions.
• Respond to emergency calls after hours to ensure tenant safety and property security.
• Perform janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness and curb appeal.

Qualifications:

• 5–6 years of experience in residential property maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, and painting.
• Knowledge of Cal/OSHA codes, preventive maintenance, and janitorial procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse, low-income populations.
• Reliable transportation, valid California Driver’s License, and insurance.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, and maneuverability.

Salary Range:

$39,724.00 to $48,558.00 annually
