Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on residential facilities across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and other systems.
• Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Inspect residential units to identify issues before they escalate.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for larger projects.
• Operate TAMUCC vehicle or golf cart to travel to worksites.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work on-call and after hours as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied weather conditions.

Job description

* Perform regular preventative maintenance and repairs on residential facilities, including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, and other systems.* Respond to resident requests for maintenance or repairs in a timely and efficient manner.* Use of ladders and small lifts.* Conduct regular inspections of residential units to identify and address potential maintenance issues before they become larger problems.* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repair work completed.* Work with contractors and vendors as needed to complete larger maintenance projects.* Operate a TAMUCC vehicle and/or golf cart to navigate to and from worksites.* High school diploma or GED.* One (1) year of related experience in building maintenance.* Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and other building systems.* Valid driver's license* Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and other building systems.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.* Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and contractors.* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.* Willingness to work on-call and after hours as needed.* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.* Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs, and work in cramped or awkward positions for extended periods of time.* Must be able to work in various weather conditions.* Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system.* Additional education or training in maintenance or construction fields preferred.* Previous experience in building maintenance in a university or other large residential setting is preferred.* Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) or Optional Retirement Plan (ORP)* Voluntary Tax Deferred Account/Deferred Compensation PlanAgain, welcome and thank you for your interest.
