Job description

* High school diploma or GED* Three (3) years of experience in carpentry, maintenance, repair, or construction work.* Additional education may be used as a substitute for the minimum experience requirement+ Associate degree and one (1) year experience in carpentry, maintenance, repair, or construction work.* Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.* Strong technical knowledge of carpentry.* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex maintenance issues.* Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to maintenance work.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.* Valid driver's license* Ability to perform physical work* Three to five (3-5) years carpentry experience especially in University housing, apartments or schools.* Basic drywall, painting, light plumbing, and general maintenance knowledge.* Maintenance work in a university setting is preferred.* Trade school certification or relevant work experience preferred.* Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) or Optional Retirement Plan (ORP)* Voluntary Tax Deferred Account/Deferred Compensation PlanAgain, welcome and thank you for your interest.
