Job summary

Ascend Recruiting Partners is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Montgomery, AL to maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, robotics, and plant systems in a high-volume plastics manufacturing setting.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, reading schematics, and the ability to work flexible shifts. Experience with Engel machines and automotive/Tier1 environments is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electrical).
• Experience with reading technical manuals and electrical schematics.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently under pressure.
• Experience with plant utilities and auxiliary equipment (compressors, vacuum systems, cooling towers, dryers).
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• 1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance on injection molding machines (350T-2000T), robots, and auxiliary equipment.
• 2. Production Support: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; diagnose failures and restore operations.
• 3. Preventative Maintenance & Continuous Improvement: Execute maintenance programs and track spare parts inventory.
• 4. Facility & Utility Systems Support: Maintain plant infrastructure including compressors, HVAC, cooling towers, and electrical systems.
• 5. Automation & Process Interaction: Support interaction between molding processes and automation systems.
• 6. Safety & Compliance: Follow LOTO and OSHA standards and document activities.
