Position Summary:

In addition to its 300 days of annual sunshine, breathtaking scenery, and reputation for some of the country's best brews, Denver ranks among the top 10 in Forbes’ 'Best cities for dogs 2024' list. We are honored to have a strong presence in this mile-high city, as we have been operating here since 1930. Initially focused on producing livestock feed, the plant transitioned into a pet food-only manufacturer in 1972. Notably, our Denver location became the first-ever pet food factory to harness the power of solar energy. We take great pride in doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. We currently produce 260,134 tons annually of Dog Chow, Cat Chow, Kit n Kaboodle, Alpo, Beneful, Nestlé Purina ONE Beyond, Nestlé Purina ONE, and Pro Plan.

As a Maintenance Technician, your role, in the bigger picture, is to manage the preventative and predictive maintenance to improve the functionality and safe working order of our manufacturing equipment and machinery. You will handle projects that span the electrical, mechanical and automation maintenance challenges. This position will be scheduled for an off shift (2nd or 3rd shift). This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on general plant electrical equipment such as starters, start/stop stations, motors (up to 480V).
  2. Service and repair of production related electrical equipment including knowledge of power distribution and lighting systems, AC/DC motors and transformers, machine and line control devices, fluid control and distribution, electronic controls and instrumentation, variable frequency drives, and basic PLC knowledge/ interpretation capabilities.
  3. Ability to demonstrate safe practices and tools while working with low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and components.
  4. Operate & maintain shop tools and equipment, such as pipe threader and band saw.
  5. Demonstrate good working knowledge of electrical diagrams and/or circuits and utilize during troubleshooting.
  6. Must have a working knowledge of basic electrical test apparatus such as multimeters and megohmmeters.
  7. Use proper equipment to test, repair, & verify various forms of digital & analog signals.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 1+ years’ electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, military, or related environment.

OR

  • 2 Year Technical Degree.
Other requirements:
  • Must be willing to work all shifts including nights and weekends.
