Job description

Maintenance Technician III – Electrical

Location: USA, Decatur, AL

Starting pay: $41.84/hr + $1.50 shift differential with a $3,000 sign‑on bonus. All shifts available.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot VFDs and servo drives, set and adjust parameters, and replace devices as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and complete shop records using established reporting systems.
• Adjust manufacturing equipment and test machinery for accuracy.
• Provide quick response to maintenance requests from leadership and manufacturing operations teams.
• Follow safe work methods, LOTO procedures, and required personal protective equipment to avoid injury or property damage.
• Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure clean and organized maintenance work areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Associate’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field, or equivalent trade certification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Experience with 480V, 220V, 120V, and low‑voltage DC controls and systems.
• Proficient reading and interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Experience with AC/DC power and PLC process logic controllers used in manufacturing.
• Team‑oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a loud/noisy environment and adapt to schedule changes, overtime, and weekends.
• Capability to operate powered equipment, scissor lifts, JLGs, fork trucks, etc.
• Annual medical clearance for respirator usage and clearance for all plant areas.

Physical Demands

• Intermittently sit or stand with frequent walking.
• Occasionally lift or move parts up to 50 lbs. Push or pull up to 35 lbs.
• Use hands for grasping, squeezing, pinching, and manual dexterity.
• Reach with arms, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch, bend at waist, or crawl as required.
• Talk, hear, and use close and distance vision, color perception, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
• May be exposed to weather, moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, fumes, chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration.

Desired Characteristics

• Technical certifications (e.g., electrical, PLC, drive systems).
• Experience with Human Machine Interfaces, analog/digital AC/DC drive systems, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Mechanical aptitude to understand basic mechanical concepts and relationships.
