Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant maintenance experience required.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer and tablet familiarity.
• Ability to work on-call during evenings or weekends as needed.
• Ability to understand basic English and work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
• Lead and train Maintenance Technician I and II.
• Complete service requests and repairs per procedures.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy and market readiness.
• Assist in preventive maintenance and inspections with supervision.
• Maintain grounds, snow removal, and trash management to preserve curb appeal.
• Be available for on-call duties during off-hours as scheduled.

About the Opportunity

WinnCompanies is searching for a Maintenance Technician III to join our team at Brunswick Holborn Apartments, supporting 250 affordable housing units across scattered sites in Dorchester, MA and Roxbury, MA.

In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residential common areas, office, grounds and parking lots.

Please note that the pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, the selected candidate will typically work: Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, with a 1-week on-call rotation every month.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and make repairs in such areas as, but not limited to: appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Lead and train Maintenance Technician I and II.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Ensure vacant apartments are prepared for occupancy and market ready in accordance with company standards.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor in leading and assisting the completion of the preventive maintenance program, building and safety inspections and annual unit inspections.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping and trash management activities.
• Be available for on-call activity during off hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
• A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational or technical training.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT) and Lead Based Paint.
