Job summary

Gibraltar in Dallas is seeking an experienced industrial maintenance technician to dismantle, assemble and install machinery, and diagnose and repair power distribution and drive systems.

You will read electrical drawings, troubleshoot PLC logic, and train staff on safe repair methods while supporting continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment with potential overtime and lifting up to 50 lbs, and wearing PPE as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience PLC / Electrical / Hydraulic troubleshooting.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and trace electrical issues on industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks in dismantling, assembling and installing industrial machinery.
• Diagnose, repair and perform maintenance tasks on high and low voltage power distribution systems, AC and DC drives, microprocessors, relay logic, control wiring and related technologies.
• Repair and replace defective parts and components; install parts in devices; lubricate and clean components.
• Maintain inventory on supplies and spare parts.
• Read blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot equipment in a timely manner.
• Maintain and train employees in safe repair methods following LOTO and related programs.
• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery.
• Participate in plant safety activities and continuous improvement projects.

• Repair and replace defective parts and components. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts and components.
• Maintains inventory on supplies and spare parts.
• Ability to read, troubleshoot, and create PLC logic.
• Read blueprints and schematics to effectively troubleshoot equipment in a timely manner.
• Maintain and train employees in the safe and efficient methods to repair equipment by following company developed LOTO and other related programs.
• Installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and equipment.
• Participate in plant safety related activities such as the STOP program.
• Participate and work on continuous improvement projects as assigned.
• Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education And/or Experience

• High School Diploma
• 5 years of experience PLC / Electrical / Hydraulic Troubleshooting

Physical Requirements

Able to list 50 lbs., stand and walk for prolonged periods of time on the manufacturing floor.

Work Conditions

This job operates in an industrial manufacturing environment exposure to varying temperatures, loud noise levels, dust, fumes, oil, or other outdoor elements. This role requires regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time. Climbing stairs/ladders, squatting, sitting, operating machinery, and may require lifting up to 50lbs, and must be able to wear PPE as required. This is a full-time position and may require some overtime including nights and weekend work.
