Job summary

Gibraltar Industries is seeking a skilled technician to dismantle, repair and install industrial machinery on site in a manufacturing environment. You will diagnose high/low voltage systems, AC/DC drives, and control wiring, while reading blueprints and PLC logic to troubleshoot equipment quickly.

With 5+ years in PLC/electrical troubleshooting, you will replace defective parts, maintain inventories, and train staff on safe repair methods.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing PLC/Electrical systems in industrial settings.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and trace issues on equipment.
• 5+ years of PLC/Electrical/ Hydraulic troubleshooting.
• Strong problem solving and hands-on repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, assemble and install industrial machinery.
• Diagnose, repair and maintain high/low voltage systems, drives, relays, and control wiring.
• Replace defective parts, lubricate, and clean components.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and spare parts.
• Read blueprints and troubleshoot equipment; create PLC logic as needed.
• Train employees on safe repair methods per LOTO programs.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair machinery across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Participate in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Perform tasks in dismantling, assembling and installing industrial machinery.


• Diagnose, repair and perform maintenance tasks on high and low voltage power distribution systems, AC and DC drives, microprocessors, relay logic, control wiring and related technologies


• Repair and replace defective parts and components. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts and components.


• Maintains inventory on supplies and spare parts.


• Ability to read, troubleshoot, and create PLC logic.


• Read blueprints and schematics to effectively troubleshoot equipment in a timely manner.


• Maintain and train employees in the safe and efficient methods to repair equipment by following company developed LOTO and other related programs.


• Installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and equipment.


• Participate in plant safety related activities such as the STOP program.


• Participate and work on continuous improvement projects as assigned.


• Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma


• 5+ years of experience PLC / Electrical / Hydraulic Troubleshooting

Technical Skills

• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming.


• Ability to read electrical drawings and trace down electrical issues on industrial equipment

Physical Requirements

Able to list 50 lbs., stand and walk for prolonged periods of time on the manufacturing floor.

Work Conditions

This job operates in an industrial manufacturing environment exposure to varying temperatures, loud noise levels, dust, fumes, oil, or other outdoor elements. This role requires regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time. Climbing stairs/ladders, squatting, sitting, operating machinery, and may require lifting up to 50lbs, and must be able to wear PPE as required. This is a full-time position and may require some overtime including nights and weekend work.
