Job summary

Superior Tire & Rubber Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to install, repair, and maintain machinery across manufacturing facilities. The role focuses on maximizing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting production targets.

Responsibilities include planning maintenance tasks, coordinating parts, following safety protocols, and training level I & II technicians. On-site, full-time hours and standard safety practices apply.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Able to read/write and perform basic math.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong communication and teamwork for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Preventative Maintenance: perform routine checks, lubrication, and cleaning of motors and production equipment.
  • Repairs and Replacements: dismantle machinery, replace defective parts, and install components.
  • Calibrations: set up and calibrate equipment per engineering specs.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting: diagnose root causes of malfunctions.
  • Documentation: maintain maintenance logs and reports; train junior technicians.

Description

As a Maintenance Technician III at Superior Tire & Rubber Corp., you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and upkeep of machinery in manufacturing and production facilities. Our primary goal is to ensure equipment runs efficiently to maximize productivity and lifespan while minimizing downtime.

Essential Job Functions
Planning/Coordinating Product
  • Review daily schedule with Team Leader or Supervisor at start of each shift to establish correct work orders and preventative maintenance tasks to be completed.
  • Coordinate with Supervisor or Team Leader correct parts are available to complete assigned work orders
Safety and Compliance
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
  • Attend daily safety meetings
  • Perform daily crane, grinder, and lift inspections.
  • Work closely with team members, supervision, and other cross-functional teams to achieve production and maintenance goals. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work order status and any issues.
  • Work with production team members on root cause analysis to determine the cause of issues and provide feedback to production and maintenance team members to prevent reoccurrence.
SPS Responsibilities
  • Support production to remain On-Quality, On-Time & On-Cost
  • Follow the 5S principles: Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain
  • Look for ways to improve production efficiency and safety using SPS Practices
  • Keep your work area organized and ready for daily 5S inspections
Working Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Performing routine checks, cleaning, and lubrication on motors, gears, and production machines to prevent malfunctions before they occur.
  • Repairs & Replacements: Disassembling machinery to remove defective parts and installing new components using hand and power tools.
  • Calibrations: Setting up and calibrating equipment and machinery according to engineering specifications independently.
  • Mechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnosing the root causes of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions independently.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting Support: Diagnosing the root causes of electrical issues involving control circuits and line voltages up to 480V independently.
  • Fabrication: Using machine shop equipment like mills, lathes, grinders and welding tools to create or repair metal parts.
  • Collaboration: Working with other departments when necessary to
  • Documentation: Maintaining detailed maintenance logs and reports, through Asset Essentials and OneNote
  • Training: Instruct and teach Maintenance Technicians level I & II on preventive maintenance, repairs and replacements, calibrations, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, fabrication, and documentation.

Required and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 Years Experience in industrial maintenance role OR repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Able to read/write and do basic math.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use measuring tools.
  • Ability to use computer and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials as needed.
