Job summary

Environmental Air Systems is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to join our Facilities Department. The role emphasizes diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, and related facility issues, with leadership in repairs and training for junior technicians.

You will perform advanced preventive maintenance, lead improvement projects, and coordinate contractors, with on-site work, travel between locations, overtime, and on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, technical certification, or advanced training in a maintenance-related field preferred.
  • Experience in operating and repairing multiple types of equipment and systems is a plus: fabrication machinery, robotic machinery, painting systems, welding, refrigeration/HVAC, electrical/control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, and facility-related issues.
  • Perform advanced preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility and production support equipment.
  • Lead difficult repairs, equipment recovery efforts, and small maintenance improvement projects.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Maintenance Technician I and II and provide hands-on training and coaching.
  • Analyze recurring failures, determine root causes, and recommend permanent corrective actions.
  • Assist with work planning, job scoping, parts identification, and repair-versus-replace decisions.

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to join our Facilities Department.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm with overtime, travel between EAS locations, and on-call work as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, and facility-related issues within training and qualifications.
  • Perform advanced preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility and production support equipment.
  • Lead difficult repairs, equipment recovery efforts, and small maintenance improvement projects.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Maintenance Technician I and II employees and provide hands-on training and coaching.
  • Analyze recurring failures, determine root causes, and recommend permanent corrective actions.
  • Assist the Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Manager with work planning, job scoping, parts identification, and repair-versus-replace recommendations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Coordinate assigned contractors and vendors, verify quality of completed work, and communicate deficiencies.
  • Support equipment installations, facility upfits, commissioning, and turnover to operations.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, work orders, maintenance procedures, and parts documentation.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide technical direction during equipment or facility failures.
  • Promote continuous improvement, safe work practices, and consistent maintenance standards across EAS locations.
  • Other duties may be added as needed by supervision.
Education Requirements/Qualifications
  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Five or more years of commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, technical certification, or advanced training in a maintenance-related field preferred.
  • Experience in the operation and repair of multiple types of the following equipment and systems is considered a plus:

Job Requirements/Special Skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving ability across multiple maintenance trades.
  • Strong understanding of equipment design and operation, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor employees, explain technical work, and promote consistent work practices.
  • Strong documentation, planning, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and functions while responding to changing production needs.
  • Personal computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, and maintenance management software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work for prolonged periods in industrial environments.
  • Ability to work in varying heat, cold, and noise and perform work at heights utilizing ladders and lifts.
