Job summary

Environmental Air Systems, LLC, a full-service mechanical contractor, seeks a Maintenance Technician I to join our Facilities Department. The role performs scheduled preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and basic facility repairs under supervision to build broad maintenance skills.

Responsibilities include maintaining assets and building systems, assisting senior technicians, logging work orders, reporting safety concerns, and driving between EAS locations.

Qualifications

  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish.
  • High School Diploma or GED or related maintenance, construction, or mechanical experience as determined by management.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or facilities environment preferred.
  • Experience or exposure to fabrication machinery, robotic machinery, painting systems, welding machines, or HVAC/electrical systems is a plus.
  • Ability to follow safety policies and use hand/power tools correctly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on assets, facility equipment, and building systems.
  • Complete basic plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general building repairs.
  • Assist advanced technicians with repairs, installations, and projects.
  • Respond to routine work orders and communicate status to supervisors.
  • Inspect equipment and report safety concerns or developing problems.
  • Maintain logs, work orders, and documentation in an orderly manner.
  • Drive a company vehicle between locations when assigned.
  • Follow safety policies and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Maintain flexibility and support other Facilities Department needs.

Job description

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our Facilities Department. The Maintenance Technician I performs scheduled preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and basic facility repairs under the direction of experienced maintenance personnel. This position is intended for an employee who is developing broad maintenance skills and can complete assigned work safely, efficiently, and with appropriate supervision.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm with overtime, travel between EAS locations, and on-call work as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on EAS assets, facility equipment, and building systems as assigned.
  • Complete basic plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, hardware, and general building repairs.
  • Assist Maintenance Technician II, Maintenance Technician III, and Maintenance Lead personnel with repairs, installations, and improvement projects.
  • Respond to routine maintenance work orders and communicate work status to the appropriate lead or manager.
  • Inspect equipment and facility conditions and report safety concerns, damage, or developing problems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts safely and in accordance with training.
  • Keep maintenance logs, work orders, and other assigned documentation current and orderly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, assigned tools, equipment, and maintenance vehicle.
  • Drive a company vehicle between EAS locations when assigned.
  • Follow all EAS safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Maintain flexibility with assigned duties and support other Facilities Department needs as directed.
  • Other duties may be added as needed by supervision.
Education Requirements/Qualifications
  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required, or related maintenance, construction, or mechanical experience as determined by department management.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, construction, or facilities environment preferred.
  • Experience or exposure in the operation and repair of any of the following is considered a plus: Fabrication machinery Robotic machinery Painting systems Welding machines and leads Refrigeration / HVAC Electrical / Control systems Hydraulics Pneumatics
Job Requirements/Special Skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn multiple maintenance trades.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and ask questions when work requirements are unclear.
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate work order and maintenance documentation.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels may be at or above 90 decibels.
  • Ability to perform work at heights utilizing ladders and lifts.
