Job summary

The Toro Company in El Paso, TX is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair of production equipment. You will inspect, troubleshoot and service electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, reading manuals and work orders to keep equipment in top condition.

Daily duties include emergency repairs during production hours and coordination with Engineering for efficiency improvements. Overtime and off-shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years related experience in manufacturing/extrusion.
• Strong troubleshooting, repair and installation skills across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Effective oral and written communication and good PC literacy.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and keep accurate records.
• Inspect equipment, report discrepancies, and maintain tools and parts.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Read equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production hours, including nights and weekends.
• Collaborate with Engineering on projects to improve productivity and efficiency.

What are the most common activities?

In order to grow and build a successful career at The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

• Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PMs); perform daily routine checks and inspections to equipment keeping accurate records.
• Inspects Equipment, records transaction and information. Responsible for maintaining tools and equipment in good standing, storage and records.
• Inspects and performs PM's as per instruction sheets, and will also report discrepancies to the group leader.
• Performs analysis of devices/equipment and identifies root cause for malfunctions.
• Repairs and replaces defective parts. Performs preventive maintenance on specified mechanical devices/equipment when required.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production hours which may include nights and weekends.
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Comply with TORO and OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• Maintains, repairs and modifies extruders, pullers, calibration Tanks, Grinders, and refrigeration equipment.
• Repairs and reconditions hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Installs plumbing systems connected to compressed air, water pressure, drainage and electrical distribution.
• Works closely with Engineering team, for project developments for productivity and efficiency

What do you need?

To be considered for this position, an individual must meet the following minimum requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency and a minimum of 2-5 years-related experience in a manufacturing, extrusion environment, Industrial Maintenance Technician Diploma/or equivalent from a technical school.
• Strong Technical skills in trouble shooting, repairs, and installation of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and must possess excellent follow-up skills.
• Strong experience in Preventive Maintenance Repairs and record keeping.

Preferred Requirements:

Ability to work overtime and off shifts when required.

Other Job-Related Components:

• Wage : $27+ / Hr. based on experienceDay Shift: 7am-3:30pm or 9am-5:30pm, Monday - FridayNight Shift: 7pm-7am, 12 hour rotating schedule (2 days on, 2 days off & 3 days on, 3 days off)
