Job summary

UTHealth Houston seeks a Maintenance Worker II to perform a variety of skilled maintenance, repair, preventive maintenance, and remodeling tasks to keep facilities safe and functional for patients, students, faculty, and staff. You will handle light carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, drywall work, door hardware, HVAC support, and more, while coordinating with skilled trades and vendors.

Rotation includes Day, Night, and Weekend shifts with an essential-emergency reporting

Qualifications

• 3 years apprentice level experience in a trade and/or general building maintenance required.
• Completion of 10th grade required.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs skilled maintenance and preventive tasks across multiple trades.
• Uses CMMS to enter and complete work orders.
• Assist with remodeling and minor construction projects as needed.
• Communicate with vendors and project managers; report status of projects.
• Follow safety procedures and policies; respond to emergencies when required.
