Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to perform semi-skilled maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, assisting skilled technicians with installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, building inspections, and work-order completion to help ensure campus facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.

This essential position may require reporting to work during emergencies or campus closures; you will carry a university device and respond to calls

Qualifications

• Completion of 10th grade High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs semi-skilled maintenance, PM, repairs, and remodeling tasks across multiple trades.
• Assists personnel in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other trades with installation and repair tasks.
• Conducts building rounds to check equipment, logs readings, and reports concerns to supervisor.
• Completes work orders using CMMS via PC and smartphone.
