Job summary

Borden Dairy is seeking a safety-conscious and quality-focused Maintenance Technician 2 to join our Lafayette, LA team. You will install, maintain, and repair production and manufacturing equipment, ensuring proper function and preventative maintenance per manufacturer specifications.

In this role you will troubleshoot to meet performance standards, participate in continuous improvement, and comply with OSHA and safety policies while working with a capable team across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or three years of related experience and/or training in equipment maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Moderate knowledge of and/or experience with PLC systems.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and accurately recording data.
• Bilingual skills are beneficial.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete preventative maintenance inspections and services on all production and manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment to meet company performance standards.
• Apply a continuous improvement mindset to identify and support process improvements.
• Comply with all company safety policies and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Use all personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Possess and maintain personal tools necessary to perform job duties.
