Job summary

Horning is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for Brookland Ridge, a 324-unit community in Washington, DC. You will join a four-person team, manage a mixed-craft workload, and help maintain appliance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems while guiding less experienced staff.

You should have 3+ years of hands-on experience, endure on-call rotations, and adhere to safety standards. EPA 608 and other certifications are required or preferred, with a sign-on bonus offered.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of maintenance experience in multifamily, residential, or commercial settings.
• Ability to diagnose across trades without supervision.
• Ability to lift 40–75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and complete intermediate repairs across multiple trades.
• Carry your own service request queue and document parts, labor, and root cause in AppWork.
• Escalate complex issues to Technician III or Senior Manager with a proper diagnosis.
• Handle vacant unit turns to market-ready condition, including appliance, plumbing, electrical, and drywall work.
