Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a maintenance technician to inspect, repair and install mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment at plants and pump stations.

You will troubleshoot, calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on pumps, engines, valves and related equipment, with on-site work and potential on-call duties, following safety policies and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; able to read/write English and follow instructions.
• 2–5 years in a related maintenance role in similar environments; able to read specs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems; estimate time and material costs; dismantle and reassemble for repairs.
• Inspect flow meters and controls; diagnose problems and report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, lubrication, and adjustments on pumps, engines, valves, conveyors and related equipment.
• Fabricate devices from steel; weld, thread pipe and solder as needed.
• Calibrate portable meters (DO, pH, H2S) and other testing instruments.
• Maintain facilities and may replace glass, doors, tiles, locks; report issues to supervisor.
• Operate vehicles for plant operations and assist in inventory management.
• Assist in training and orientation of new maintenance personnel.
• Work in a team environment and adhere to safety/environmental policies.
