Quanex Building Products Corp. in Richmond, IN, seeks a Maintenance Technician II for the Day Shift to repair and maintain production machinery, motors, pneumatics, tools, and related equipment. Shift is Mon–Thu 5:00 am–3:30 pm, Fridays as needed.

• Provide a safe work environment by following all safety policies and using PPE as required.
• Use CMMS to receive work orders, request parts, and document time to completion.
• Perform maintenance and repair on production machinery, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems using a variety of tools and techniques.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspections of machinery and electrical hardware/software upgrades.
• Communicate repair steps, parts ordered, and time estimates clearly to Production.
• Participate in daily shift meetings to prioritize and review work orders.

Description

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician I - Day Shift to join our team located in Richmond IN.

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, and resolving complex issues related to motors, pneumatics, tools, and production machines and equipment.

Mon- Thurs 5:00 am - 3:30 pm and Fridays as needed.

What Success Looks Like:

• Repairs and reconditions hydraulic/pneumatic systems (airlines, solenoids).
• Replaces and repairs electrical equipment/components.
• Repairs and maintains material systems.
• Installs plumbing, air and electrical utilities necessary for machine operation.
• Ensures machine properly functions (voltage, proper operation).
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Support facility maintenance

Your Credentials:

• 3+ years’ experience preferred- Individuals with less experience will be considered with training opportunities available for the right candidate.
• Intermediate level of experience with and knowledge of electrical and mechanical applications.
• Intermediate experience with the use of a variety of hand and mechanical tools for equipment repair.

The hourly rate falls within a range of $26.00/hr to $33.00/hr depending on experience, qualifications, and the job responsibilities.
