Job summary

Gannon University is seeking a Maintenance Technician II – Carpentry Emphasis to perform semi-skilled maintenance and finish carpentry across campus facilities. The role includes on-call responsiveness for after-hours emergencies and collaboration with other trades on multi-trade projects.

Required are a high school diploma and at least three years of building-maintenance experience with carpentry emphasis, plus familiarity with carpentry tools and basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and clean driving record.
• Min three years of building-maintenance experience with carpentry emphasis.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic carpentry repairs including doors, frames, hardware, trim and cabinetry.
• Replace or repair ceilings, doors, locks, flooring, windows and wall finishes.
• Patch and paint walls and ceilings; install baseboards and trim.
• Fabricate shelves or minor casework; install pictures, blinds, signage.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on doors, windows, furnishings, and fixtures.
• Respond to work orders and assist contractors on multi-trade projects.
• Maintain CMMS records and ensure safe, clean work environments.
