Job summary

OnTrac is seeking a Maintenance Technician II – Conveyor Systems in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on inspecting, maintaining, and repairing conveyor systems to ensure safe, efficient operations in a 24/7 distribution environment.

Candidates should have at least 3 years in mechanical/electrical maintenance, with high voltage experience, OSHA knowledge, and the ability to read schematics. A valid driver's license and lifting capability up to 60 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years related experience in mechanical and electrical equipment.
• High voltage electrical experience required.
• Current Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of Material Handling Systems and industrial conveyor controls (VFDs, 480V).
• Knowledge of LOTO, PMs, and 3-Phase electrical work.
• Ability to read schematics and electrical blueprints.
• Mechanical and/or electrical work experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
• Flexibility to support 24/7 operations and lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain conveyor systems to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Replace parts, rebuild and align gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
• Consult manuals and schematics for repairs and modifications.
• Maintain clean work areas and respond to after-hours service as needed.
• Inspect machinery daily for potential issues and safety compliance.
• Support 24/7 operations and adapt to shift schedules.

Shift(s): Sunday - Wednesday 10:00am - 8:30pm (Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business)

Compensation: The expected starting base pay range for this position is $26.15 - $32.69 with a full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $26.15 - $39.23. Actual compensation will be determined based based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors. This position may also be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, or other forms of additional compensation, in accordance with applicable Company policies and law.

• You will ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment to keep operations running smoothly, responding in a timely manner to all material handling systems breakdowns.
• You will maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyor systems.
• You will change and repair parts of conveyor systems, as well as rebuild and align equipment, gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
• You will use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
• You will perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean-up, conveyor and equipment clean-up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
• You will conduct daily inspections of machinery for potential problems.
• From time to time, you may be called in after hours to ensure MHS (conveyor) systems are working at optimum capacity.
• You will maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.

• You must possess the ability to learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions to perform job duties.
• You must utilize company tools and have the ability to purchase new tools as needed.
• You must demonstrate knowledge of Material Handling Systems (MHS), industrial conveyor systems and controls in distribution, shipping, and sorting environments, VFDs, and electronic motors (480V).
• You must possess knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PMs (Preventative Maintenance), and 3-Phase electrical work.
• You must have the ability to read and understand schematics and electrical blueprints.
• You are required to have mechanical and or electrical work experience.
• You must possess knowledge of OSHA requirements.
• You must have the ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24-hour operations, occasionally working extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• You must have the ability to lift 60 pounds on a routine basis.
