Job summary

OnTrac is hiring a Maintenance Technician I – Conveyor Systems in Fontana, CA. You will inspect, maintain and repair conveyor systems to keep operations running smoothly. The role requires timely responses to breakdowns and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, replace worn parts, read schematics, and support 24/7 operations as needed. This position offers a night shift with potential overtime and benefits in a growing logistics

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred depending on role.
• 1+ years of related mechanical/electrical experience or training.
• High voltage electrical experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on conveyor systems.
• Repair/replace parts and rebuild equipment components as needed.
• Read and follow illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operation manuals.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist with after-hours support when needed.

Shift(s): Sunday to Wednesday from 9:00pm-7:30am (Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business)

Compensation

The expected starting base pay range for this position is $24.85 - $31.06 with a full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $24.84 - $37.27. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related factors. This position may also be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, or other forms of additional compensation, in accordance with applicable Company policies and law.

The Must-Haves

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• 1+ years or greater related experience and/or training in mechanical and electrical equipment.
• High voltage electrical experience is required.
• Current Driver's License and clean driving record.

Your Mission In Motion

• You will ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment to keep operations running smoothly, responding in a timely manner to all material handling systems breakdowns.
• You will maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyor systems.
• You will change and repair parts of conveyor systems, as well as rebuild and align equipment, gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
• You will use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
• You will perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean-up, conveyor and equipment clean-up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
• You will conduct daily inspections of machinery for potential problems.
• From time to time, you may be called in after hours to ensure MHS (conveyor) systems are working at optimum capacity.
• You will maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.

Paving Your Way To Your Success

• You must possess the ability to learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions to perform job duties.
• You must utilize company tools and have the ability to purchase new tools as needed.
• You must demonstrate knowledge of Material Handling Systems (MHS), industrial conveyor systems and controls in distribution, shipping, and sorting environments, VFDs, and electronic motors (480V).
• You must possess knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PMs (Preventative Maintenance), and 3-Phase electrical work.
• You must have the ability to read and understand schematics and electrical blueprints.
• You are required to have mechanical and or electrical work experience.
• You must possess knowledge of OSHA requirements.
• You must have the ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24-hour operations, occasionally working extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• You must have the ability to lift 60 pounds on a routine basis.
