CJ Schwan's is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Kentucky food manufacturing facility. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing conveyor systems and production machinery to ensure continuous operation.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; a 2-year maintenance trade degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience in maintenance.
• Ability to work varying hours including overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.
