Job description

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician II - 1st Shift.

The hourly rate for this position is $29.00 per hour. The hours for first shift are from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position performs skilled journey-level work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus, and fixtures used within an Aerospace/Industrial manufacturing site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical distribution systems including electric motors, electric controls, fire alarms, and clock systems.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs new equipment and systems, including manufacturing/assembly equipment (CNC Mills, Lathes, Drills) and programmable lighting controls.
  • Ensures site fire alarms and emergency electrical systems are operational; performs certification testing on alarm systems.
  • Maintains electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at various levels.
  • Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to NEC requirements.
  • Demonstrates safe and proficient use of shop tools (hand and power).
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Tests electrical systems and circuits using testing devices to ensure safety and compatibility.
  • Demonstrates mechanical knowledge.
  • Assists in writing specifications for repairs and new constructions.
  • Performs work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs for installation and maintenance.
  • Performs rigging, safety functions, and miscellaneous electrical tasks.
  • Operates forklifts and high lifts safely.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements and departmental safety objectives.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area per 5S standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and works flexible hours.
Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic theory related to electrical and electronic circuits.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment and lighting controls.
  • Proficient in using shop tools (hand and power).
  • Mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to perform general repairs (plumbing, facility repairs).
  • Flexible working hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of air compressors and pressure vessels.
  • Proficiency in preventative maintenance database management.
  • Experience testing electrical systems and circuits.
Skills:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, squat, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands. Frequently climb and reach above shoulder level. Occasionally exert 50-100 lbs. of force, and frequently 25-50 lbs., constantly 10-20 lbs.
