Job description

Maintenance Tech II 1155C

This position ensures safe and clean facilities and work areas by performing routine custodial and janitorial duties, along with other maintenance work as required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the shop is kept clean.
2. Perform complex repairs and diagnostics on equipment and facilities.
3. Inspect work areas regularly for EHS hazards and identify opportunities for improvement.
4. Manage small to medium projects.
5. Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) throughout the shop.
6. Maintain supply inventory and stock the supply closet as needed.
7. Maintain the exterior of the facility and grounds, including trash pickup, operating a sweeper, shoveling snow, etc.
8. Follow safe operating procedures when using cleaning solutions and machinery.
9. Demonstrate safety commitment by adhering to all safety and health procedures and modeling safety behaviors. Participate actively in safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor, such as supply management and delivery.
11. Work overtime as required by business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience, or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience, such as higher-level degrees or certifications in a related discipline, or
• 5 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills with staff, management, and customers.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb, and lift 1-50 pounds.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Familiarity with electrical work.

Preferred:

• Previous custodial experience, especially with water pumps for car wash.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, and chemicals; moderate noise level.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly rate: $19.57 - $29.38, with potential for additional compensation such as commissions or incentives.

Benefits include at least 16 hours of paid time off monthly, seven paid holidays, and additional leave options such as bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, and parental leave.
