The Hillman Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for our Tyler, TX facility. This full-time, second-shift role supports manufacturing, packaging, and distribution through installation, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment.

Key duties include preventative maintenance, mechanical calibration, and testing of motor-control devices. Requires associate degree or equivalent and 2–5 years of related experience, with strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in industrial maintenance.
  • Two to five years of related maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve complex operating problems in a timely manner; repair electrical, vacuum, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform general and preventative maintenance on production systems.
  • Test and modify operational machinery and control equipment.
  • Accurately complete daily maintenance reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and conserve resources.

Maintenance Technician II
Job Summary

Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs a variety of equipment and machinery to support manufacturing, packaging, and distribution operations. Diagnoses problems and recommends solutions.

This is a full-time, second-shift position. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Essential Job Functions *
  • Uses knowledge and experience to resolve complex operating problems (some examples below) in a timely manner; reports other problems to Supervisor. Typical items include repairing various electrical, vacuum, mechanical, and pneumatic systems; performing mechanical calibrations and alignments; assembling and testing motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, and other machinery related equipment.
  • Preform general and preventative maintenance multiple production systems in and around the facility.
  • Performs mechanical calibrations and alignments during preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Applies related knowledge to test and/or modify operational machinery and control equipment.
  • Accurately completes daily maintenance reports.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment and conserves resources by using equipment and supplies to accomplish job results without waste.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures; reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor.

  • Typical education required Associate Degree, Military, or Civilian Equivalent in Industrial Maintenance Technology.

  • Two to five years related experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision. Flexible able to quickly shift priorities as needed.
  • Able to work from verbal and written instructions.

Work Environment

Maintenance: Self-paced, 8 hr shifts. May be exposed to fumes, loud noises and extreme temperatures infrequently. Functional near, far and peripheral vision and functional hearing required.

Maintenance: Medium - Very heavy, lifting up to 150 lbs.
