Starting Pay: $23.75 per hour
Additional $2.00 per hour shift differential from 3 pm -- 6 am
Shift: 2nd - Crew D (every other Wednesday through Saturday)
Hours: 6:00pm - 6:30am

  • Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent, Two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred and 3-5 years of related experience
  • Understand basic math, simple instructions, training materials, and product labeling.
  • Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts
  • Be a team player and interact professionally with co-workers
  • Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to complete work orders and enter the required paperwork into a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to ninety (90) lbs.
  • Candidates receiving offers of employment will be required to complete a post-offer, pre-placement background check and drug screen
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines; troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Setup and tear down equipment; may assist with major repairs, construction, fabrication, and installation of new plant equipment
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling components using hoists and hand and power tools
  • Perform advanced maintenance duties using hoists and hand and power tools such as reading mechanical schematics, cut & key a shaft, broach a sprocket, change gear head, weld stainless metal, use a metal sheer, use a metal bender, cut & crimp ends on hydraulic hose and cut & lace belting
  • Help control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques, monitoring compliance
  • Assists with welding and fabrication of equipment used for processing and packaging
  • Use SAP to document and communicate with operations
  • Work in a safe manner with a sense of urgency while maintaining a safe and orderly work area
  • Participate in and successfully complete management-assigned training directed at increasing job-related trade skills
  • May assist with the training of lower-level maintenance employees in keeping all equipment in good repair and regularly serviced
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required; including but not limited to bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.

Years of Related Experience: 3-5 years of related experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to perform all duties of Maintenance I; Knowledge of PLC software and ability to perform minor PLC program adjustments on equipment. Basic to advanced electrical skills required such as ability to use a voltage/ohm meter, amp meter, ability to understand and use electrical schematic to determine control wiring, ability to check and troubleshoot single phase and three phase wiring, ability to check heater packs on motor starters and able to check for open circuit in control wing; Arc Flash trained; Basic to advanced building skills required such as ability to join PVC pipe, use an electric drain snake, mix concrete, grout tile troubleshoot dock leveler, ability to add/change oil & troubleshoot/repair an air compressor, repair & maintain forklifts and maintain plant aerial equipment; Ability to be certified as a boiler technician; Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete work orders, carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form, and complete required paperwork. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Mechanical knowledge and ability to expand knowledge and skills via on-the-job and formal training directed at increasing job-related skills as mandated by management/Supervisor, including all required OSHA training; basic computer skills, including SAP Maintenance Module; Ability to obtain a valid forklift license; Ability to comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, Local, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations; Must be able to lift ninety (90) lbs.
