International Vitamin Corporation is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on packaging and manufacturing lines, boilers, chillers, and related facility equipment. You will lead mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic tasks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure continuous production with proper safety and documentation practices.

The role requires hands-on skills in reading blueprints, performing repairs, and working across teams.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with maintenance and repair of machinery.
  • Knowledge of LOTO and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Troubleshooting skills of motor/drive assemblies and systems.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments.

Overview

Position Overview

This position provides maintenance on the machinery, both preventive and repair on all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to company policies and procedures. Also, makes repairs or adjustments to machinery and equipment as needed to optimize packaging, quality and performance of lines and equipment. This position is also responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of facility related equipment including boilers, chillers, air compressors, and air handling systems. This is a night shift position from Mon-Thurs, 8pm-6amMaintenance (Manufacturing, Packaging) positions are responsible for keeping machinery and the facility running to maintain continuous production flow with minimal down time while maintaining a safe work environment. Must be willing to setup, adjust and teardown equipment.

Level 2 Technicians are proficient in at least 2, and up to 5 of the following core skill areas. Proficiency in these areas will be determined by skills testing administered during the hiring process, or by successful completion of training courses and validation in each area.

Shift: Monday - Thursday | 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Starting range: $27.00-$32.00/hr

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible or assists others in installation, relocation, troubleshooting, repair, and routine setup of assigned equipment.
  • Provide daily maintenance, both preventive and repair, and complete all associated paperwork (electronic or otherwise) in a timely manner for assigned facility and manufacturing equipment.
  • Monitor and adjust machinery and facility equipment to a level whereby maximum accuracy and efficiency is achieved.
  • Convert machinery to accommodate changes in various products or packaging material.
  • Operate machinery if required. Operate newly repaired equipment and machinery to verify the adequacy of repairs, as appropriate.
  • Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts.
  • Works alone or with other technicians and/or trades to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Respond to requests by manufacturing when there are mechanical/electrical issues with manufacturing and facility equipment have been identified.
  • Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles complex equipment.
  • Follow Standard Work as assigned.
  • Compliance with company policies, SOP’s, cGMPs and regulatory requirements as related to this position.
  • Coordinate with appropriate personnel to obtain materials needed to perform functions.
  • Must follow all safety procedures when opening, repairing and installing process or plant equipment.
  • Interpret drawings of equipment to properly adjust, maintain or repair machinery and facility related equipment.
  • Operates various types of equipment (fork truck, electric pallet jacks, man lift, etc.)
  • Required to work on ladders, scaffolds, and equipment.
  • Responsible for checking the pass downs that are given from the previous shift. Get together all tools and start line production as soon as possible and shut off all machinery at the end of the shift. Technicians are responsible for serviceability and accountability of assigned tools.
  • Responsible for cleaning the area in the shop after projects are completed, sweep when necessary. Maintain 5S standards throughout the plant.
  • Complete all necessary course work/training as assigned by department management.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork relating to the job, including using good documentation practices on cGMP documentation.
  • All other assigned duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor / Leader.

General Responsibilities

  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Licenses:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5-years equipment and facility maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial or commercial environment
  • 2-year technical degree Industrial Maintenance or related field and 2-years industrial maintenance experience with manufacturing/packaging equipment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be mechanically inclined and willing to perform mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic tasks.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret mechanical data from blueprints, schematics, wiring and plumbing diagrams and be familiar with other mechanical trades data found on these documents.
  • Familiarity with maintenance and repair of machinery.
  • Knowledge and understanding of LOTO and OSHA safety requirements as related to industrial operations.
  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills of motor/drive assembly mechanical functions and systems (e.g., change oil, gears, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments (e.g., drills, drivers, calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, etc.)
  • Intermediate welding skills is a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing MS Office and Outlook
  • Willingness to complete coursework for upgrading purposes.
  • Must be able to demonstrate hands on abilities and skills will be enhanced through computer-based training modules.
  • Ability to work with others and promote a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
