Maintenance Technician II

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining the Camp‑Resort facilities, structures, and utilities; keeping them operable and in top condition. This is a SEASONAL full‑time or part‑time position reporting to the Facilities Manager.

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician II is an experienced/journey‑level class capable of performing duties independently. The role includes the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and facilities at the Resort.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the condition of the Camp‑Resort’s property, facilities, and equipment.
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly.
  • Assist in planning and executing projects from start to finish.
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic‑to‑intermediate level repair on various types of equipment:
    • Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify issues.
    • Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures.
    • Assist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures.
    • Supervise heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
    • Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything meets standard.
    • Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
  • Pool Duties:
    • Perform water tests multiple times throughout the day.
    • Maintain water chemistry and safely handle chemicals.
    • Ensure circulation and filtration stays at proper levels.
    • Conduct safety inspections daily, document and fix any issues; report unresolved issues immediately.
    • Vacuum all pools, clean all skimmer baskets, and keep all decks in all areas of the aquatic facilities.
    • Work closely with lifeguards to comply with all state and local regulations.
    • Maintain all required reports.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Regularly update Facilities Manager on status of repairs, preventative maintenance, and other projects.
    • Maintain the necessary service records on mechanical and structural systems.
    • Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed for park operation, employee relations, timekeeping, and safety, including ensuring all daily, weekly, and monthly documentation is completed.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 3‑6 years of consistent and professional work experience in a variety of trades.
  • Trade certifications and licenses are highly desired.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by communicating appropriately with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and management.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Essential Physical Demands
  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
  • Regularly move throughout the park.
  • Continuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl.
  • Able to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to reach, carry, lift, etc.
  • Constant exposure to outside weather conditions.
