Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our team! We need someone who can make adjustments to machines and equipment for proper operation.

Primary Objective

Performs complex mechanical duties and electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair, and/or distribution of electrical energy. Installs, maintains, and replaces electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing environment.

Major Function and Scope
  1. Troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) using hand-held devices or laptops.
  2. Design and redesign programs and software (PLCs, operator panels, etc.).
  3. Format hard drives and install software on computers (Computer Setup) and PC applications.
  4. Install, maintain, or repair equipment for electrical energy generation, distribution, or utilization.
  5. Diagnose electrical system or equipment issues using blueprints, drawings, layouts, or specifications.
  6. Work with load requirements for wiring and electrical equipment.
  7. Have basic knowledge of Serial port communication systems, VFDs, and process control instrumentation devices.
  8. Basic knowledge of Servomotors and drive units.
  9. Review areas for productivity improvements and propose solutions.
  10. Plan and execute process improvements.
  11. Use electrician’s tools and measuring/testing instruments.
  12. Inform supervisor of operational status and problems.
  13. Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area.
  14. Perform other related duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of electrical code; formal PLC training preferred.
  • Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
  • At least 3 years of industrial electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Competencies
  • Ability to work at heights requiring fall protection.

Requires standing, using hands, reaching, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, sitting, climbing, or balancing. May lift/move up to 50 pounds.
