The Position
The Opportunity

Work shift: M-F, 10:00 pm - 6:00 am. Shift differential offered. Available overtime. Mandatory overtime once a month.

As a Maintenance Technician in the GenMark team, your main task is to support the development and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, instruments, fixtures, and tooling used in manufacturing, research, and development environments. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Troubleshooting and adjusting Mechanical, Electrical, and software-related issues on GenMark's ePlex Cartridge and Consumable manufacturing equipment and systems.
  2. Following step-by-step instructions to perform assigned Preventive Maintenance on production equipment, and maintaining manufacturing and R&D equipment and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications.
  3. Assisting with process improvement projects, including spare parts programs and fixtures needed to support manufacturing, R&D, and other company needs.

Additional responsibilities for Maintenance Technician II include:

  1. Executing equipment validations (IQ/OQ) and documenting all activities following Good Documentation Practices.
  2. Documenting Equipment and Engineering activities in accordance with established procedures, company policies, and FDA regulations.
  3. Leading special projects as requested and performing additional duties as assigned.
Who you are
Maintenance Technician I
  • You hold a High School Diploma (required) with 0-2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment OR a technical/trade school degree (preferred).
  • Your experience focuses on electro-mechanical equipment repair, troubleshooting, systems calibrations, and/or preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of CGMP, FDA 21 CFR-Part 820, or other regulated environments.
Maintenance Technician II
  • You hold a High School Diploma (required) with at least 2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment OR a technical/trade school degree (preferred).
  • Your experience focuses on electro-mechanical equipment repair, troubleshooting, systems calibrations, and/or preventive maintenance.
  • Asset Database Management system experience required.
  • Knowledge of CGMP, FDA 21 CFR-Part 820 required.
  • Knowledge and experience with laboratory diagnostic instrument software and systems.

Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of Carlsbad, CA, is $40,700 - $75,700 USD annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
