Job summary

Schwan's Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Deer Park, TX facility. The role focuses on preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs of food production machinery to keep operations running smoothly and with minimal downtime.

You will work a Sunday–Thursday shift (6:00 am–2:30 pm), and duties include equipment setup, welding, and coordinating with production teams. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.
• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and identify root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.

Starting Pay: $28 - $31.50 per hour

Shift: Sunday through Thursday 6 am - 2:30 pm
