The City of Conroe is seeking a Maintenance Technician II responsible for labor-intensive tasks related to streets and drainage. This position requires physical capabilities and a valid Texas Class 'A' CDL within six months. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, and more.
JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician II performs ordinary, labor-intensive tasks commonly related to streets and drainage construction and maintenance. Also assists operator in any way necessary to complete the job. Must be able to work on-call duty. Must be available to respond at any hour during an emergency when requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND WORK AIDES:
Shovels, pickaxes, various hand tools, air tools, boring tools, pumps, metal detectors, line locators, I-PAD.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Ear and eye protection, boots, gloves as well as any other safety equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
