As a Maintenance Technician II, You Will
- Perform routine maintenance repairs, install sit/stand workstations and shelving, and install modular office panels/partitions.
- Replace ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and smoke detectors.
- Patch and paint interior/exterior walls and trim; reset circuit breakers.
- Replace or rebuild flush valves, faucets, toilets, urinals, and sinks.
- Relocate and/or dispose of furniture/equipment.
- Perform building inspections; identify preventative maintenance and repair needs.
- Respond to HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) service calls.
- Requisition materials and supplies using competitive pricing practices; maintain an adequate inventory of stocked supplies and materials to meet work order demands.
- Conduct monthly above-ground storage tank and fire extinguisher inspections and report deficiencies to supervisor; read equipment dials, gauges, settings, and blueprints.
- Assist with planning and coordinating the use of contractor services and repairs, including the inspection and verification of any contracted maintenance.
- Interact professionally with employees and volunteers on a daily basis.
- Provide status updates on submitted work orders and progress of repairs and projects to customers; monitor contractor project performance.
- Remove snow and ice from the Police Operations Center and other facilities
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Knowledge of modern office technology
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Knowledge of audio/visual equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and report deficiencies to the Unit Supervisor
- Ability to adjust to multiple and changing priorities, remaining flexible and open in order to meet all operational needs
- Ability to safely and effectively operate assigned hand and power tools, motorized equipment, and vehicles
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Minimum Qualifications
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
- Three years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.
- Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of work experience.
- Working knowledge of Cartegraph Systems.
- Previous Experience working inside a public safety facility
