Job summary

UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, NY is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician. Under general direction, you will perform mechanical, electrical, plumbing and groundskeeping duties around the hospital and interact with patients of all ages as needed.

The role is day shift, 40 hours per week, with a pay range of $21.80–$32.60 per hour depending on experience. A high school diploma or GED is required, plus 2–4 years of operational maintenance experience; trade school is preferred,

Position Overview

Under general direction, performs operational needs at the facility which includes but is not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and groundskeeping duties in and around the Hospital. May have contact with all ages; pediatrics, adult and geriatric patients/residents.

• Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Facilities Maintenance, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital
• Primary Work Shift: Day
• Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
• Compensation Range: $21.80 - $32.60 per hour, depending on experience

Education/Experience

• Minimum Required: High School diploma or GED.
• 2-4 years’ experience in operational level maintenance and engineering and/or demonstrated experience as a Tech 1 or equivalent.
• Preferred: Graduation from a Trade School.
• 4 years experience in operational level maintenance and engineering with 2 years being hospital experience.

In lieu of the above minimum requirements, an equivalent combination of experience and certification that fall within the limits of minimum requirements and preferred will be considered.

License/Certification

• Minimum Required: Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Preferred: N/A
