Job Title: Maintenance Technician II

Join us at Gene B. Glick Company as a Maintenance Technician II in Chesapeake, Virginia. We are looking for an experienced professional to maintain our 238-unit apartment communities, Cambridge Square Chesapeake and Governor's Pointe.

We are offering a one-time $1,000 hiring bonus (paid after 6 months of employment).

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests efficiently and courteously.
• Repair and maintain electrical circuits, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures.
• Handle plumbing fixtures such as water heaters, lavatories, toilets, and dishwashers.
• Maintain appliances including refrigerators, ranges, disposers, dishwashers, washers, and dryers.
• Service and troubleshoot HVAC systems.
• Repair carpeting and tile flooring.
• Maintain lawns, grounds, landscaping, and parking lots, including snow removal.
• Repair and maintain building exteriors and interior common areas.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities.
• Clean and maintain common areas.
• Prepare vacant apartments for market readiness, including cleaning and painting.
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls and provide resident support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience.
• Experience in maintenance is desirable.
• EPA certification is required.
• Valid driver's license in the state of residence is required.
• Ability to work overtime and respond to emergency calls.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English.
