Job summary

Merck & Co. in Athens, GA is seeking a 2nd shift maintenance technician to maintain, troubleshoot and repair pharmaceutical systems, including clean utilities, clean room HVAC, and HPW processes. Shift: Mon-Fri, 4:00pm–12:30am.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with boilers/steam, compressed air systems, chillers and cooling towers, RO/DI, generators, and electrical systems, plus strong problem-solving and written/verbal communication to support safe, compliant production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 5 years in manufacturing, pharma preferred.
• Associates/Technical Degree plus 2 years in manufacturing, pharma preferred.
• Knowledge of and adherence to EHS requirements.
• Intermediate problem solving/troubleshooting.
• Proficient verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment to ensure reliability and performance of clean utilities and HVAC.
• Support HPW systems, power plant/utilities and related processes.
• Respond to issues with boilers, steam systems, and electrical systems.

Job description

Duties:

• Shift 2nd, M-F
• Hours 4:00pm-12:30am

Independently plays a key role in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair in all aspects relative to good maintenance practices of equipment, reliability and performance of systems such as clean utilities, clean room HVAC, power plant/utilities and HPW systems.

Skills:

• Experience: Training and/or hands on in, Boilers and plant steam systems
• Compressed air systems, Centrifugal chillers and cooling towers, Process chill water systems, RO/DI, HPW systems, Clean steam systems, Generators and electrical systems.

Education:

• High School Diploma +5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in a pharmaceutical industry.
• Associates Degree/Technical Degree in a relevant field of study +2 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge of and adherence to EHS requirements.
• Intermediate level problem solving/troubleshooting.
• Proficient verbal and written communication
