Job summary

The Hershey Company’s Memphis plant is hiring an Entry‑level Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance department. The role involves hands-on mechanical and electrical work, safety compliance, and collaboration with diverse teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will participate in an in-house apprenticeship, complete a formal curriculum, and gain skills across equipment, PM tasks, line setups, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Open to any shift; follow plant safety procedures.
• Possesses basic mechanical aptitude and/or electrical aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possesses good math skills.
• Possesses basic computer skills.
• Understands and uses hand tools, power tools and other shop equipment.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.
• Follows directions and shows attention to detail.
• Willingness to participate in a team environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Accepts full responsibility for personal safety and following all safety procedures.
• Follows GMPs and food safety rules.
• Understands Hershey values and demonstrates them in daily work.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of facility and equipment.
• Repairs and rebuilds equipment and components as skill allows.
• Learns line setups and changeovers to ready production lines for operation.
• Communicates work progress and results via verbal, written, and SAP records.
